Ireland-Israel Solidarity Campaign
דנלריאל לארשי ןיב תוירדילוס ןייפמק
To some a beacon of democracy, to others, the worst serial abuser of human rights in the world, the State of Israel captures attention and divides opinions like quite no other topic. What is it about this tiny nation, with less land than Munster, that has captured the world's attention, consternation and opprobrium? The Ireland Israel Solidarity Campaign seeks to reply to the viscious lies propounded about Israel by groups like the IPSC, and explain what Israel is, what it stands for, and why it's not a pariah, Apartheid or Nazi State.

Challenging the narrative
Food label regulations, John Lalor (ISC Dublin).
Thanks to recent regulations introduced in the UK, all food from Israel will have to state whether it came from Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) or from Palestinian producers. The regulations play right into the hands of the boycotters and have been widely criticized for their disparity.

In contravention of international law he is being deprived of visits by the Red Cross

Letter to Southern Star by Cork member
A letter by a Cork IISC member in response to a letter by Don Teagan criticizing Israel.
The standard narrative of the multi-faceted Middle East conflict as one involving brutal Israeli aggression and endless suffering on the part of the downtrodden and dispossessed Palestinians is so well ingrained in the Irish psyche that disloding some of the mistruths propagated over many years by legion articles blaming on Israel everything from Palestinians' lack of statehood to their domestic water issues is a monumental task.
Ireland's media has been identified by Israel's Jerusalem Post, an internationally respected broadsheet, as one of the most hostile in the Western world toward this small Middle Eastern democracy.
The Israel Solidarity Campaign was founded precisely to try and get a more positive picture about Israel to Irish people who have been reading heavily-biased media coverage against this country for years and to react to the reams of anti-Israel propaganda propagated every day in this country .
The pro-Palestinian Campaign in Ireland, spear-headed by the IPSC, has been eminently well-organised, well-funded and highly visible. The supporters of Israel, however, have been voiceless, with just a few small organisations set up under disparate banners to try and make Israel's argument. Because of the tiny size of the Israeli effort vis-a-vis the Palestinian one, there has been no effective pro-Israel lobby in Ireland, and the extremely slanted media coverage is the natural outcome of this imbalance.
The articles on this website are there to re-educate and challenge the perceptions of anyone who has ever wondered what the Israeli side of the story might be, but due to its conspicuous abscence in the Irish debate on this issue, have yet to hear it.
We are delighted to receive original submissions from the general public, both from those within and outside of the Republic of Ireland.
Such submissions should be emailed to submissions_israelsolidaritycampaign.com.
Yours Sincerely,
Feel strongly about Israel?

The Ireland -Israel Solidarity Campaign: From Cork, Ireland, to the World
The Ireland-Israel Solidarity Campaign is an effort set-up by Daniel O'Carroll, a university student in Cork, Ireland, to try and provide Irish people with the 'other' side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that's so-often missing from debate on the issue.
Ireland is recognized by Israel, the US and other European countries as one of the countries with the most anti-Israel foreign policies in the Western world. The grave imbalance of opinion is the direct consequence of a proliferation of Palestinian sympathisers and a conspicuous abscence of a pro-Israel support group.
Although the Ireland-Israel Solidarity Campaign is not the first Israel-friendly group set up in Ireland (it is preceded by the Irish Friends of Israel and Irish Christian Friends of Israel), it is the first major group with a prescence on the internet, which is crucial in a world where young peoples' opinions are both won and lost by what they read online.
Since its inception in late 2009, the Ireland-Israel Solidarity Campaign (originally just the Israel Solidarity Campaign), has grown significantly, now counting among its members people from over 20 different countries. We aim to change peoples' hugely negative perceptions of Israel by working - through both our newsletters and online content - to change what people think about Israel and its security predicament and to encourage more two-way debate on the contentious issue of the Middle East peace process.
This website identifies itself with no one singular ideology. Although most of the content is staunchly pro-Israel, an unwaivering support of every Israeli policy is neither part of this website's remit, nor conductive to fair and spirited debate on the peace process. The website has received contributions from people of all backgrounds. Our members are Christian, Jewish, even occasionally Muslim, and we are proud to count such a panopoly of differnet peoples among our list of members who stand behind the State of Israel and refuse to fall prey to the mindless vilification, demonization and de-legitimization of this tiny State that takes place every day both in Ireland, Europe and the broader world.
